IndyBar Foundation Fellows
The Indianapolis legal community thrives because of the dedication of many esteemed individuals who, using their unique talents, work together to advance justice and lead positive change. Each year the Indianapolis Bar Foundation honors such lawyers for their dedication to the law by bestowing on them the designation of Distinguished Fellow and Distinguished Life Fellow.
Distinguished Fellows
Indianapolis Bar Foundation Distinguished Fellows play a pivotal role in ensuring justice for all in Indianapolis. Through their commitment, IndyBar Foundation-funded programs and services that touch the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors continue to positively impact our community year after year.

Selection of the 2023 Distinguished Fellow & Life Fellow class takes place at the same time.
Distinguished Fellow recruitment class size is approximately 50-60 individuals with hope of securing 35 commitments.
Life Fellow recruitment class size is approximately 12-15 individuals, who have completed their previous commitment as Distinguished Fellows, with hope of securing 10 commitments.

Mid-January - Members who have volunteered to serve on the IndyBar Foundation’s Fellows Committee begin outreach to individuals from this year’s recruitment class.
Early February - Members of the committee follow up with individuals who have not indicated their decision to join or decline this year’s class of Distinguished or Life Fellows.
End of February - Recruitments is concluded and the new class of Distinguished and Life Fellows is announced.

The 2024 Class of Distinguished and Life Fellows will be honored at this year’s Community Empowerment Breakfast on October 1, 2024.

Distinguished Fellows make a commitment to donate a total of $1500 to the IndyBar Foundation within a five-year timeframe.
Life Fellows make a commitment to continuously support the foundation above and beyond their previous level as a Distinguished Fellow.
Distinguished Life Fellows
Distinguished Life Fellows previously demonstrated a commitment to justice for all as a Distinguished Fellow. The extension of support is essential in ensuring the continuation of excellence for the legal profession. It is the tireless dedication of Distinguished Life Fellows that sustains the positive impact of the IndyBar Foundation.
